We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our legal team here at Harrods. You will report into the Group General Counsel, will work with and, as appropriate, manage colleagues within the legal department and will obtain and oversee the work of external legal advisers
About the Role
The Legal Counsel will provide commercial and other legal advice and legal drafting services to the business, as well as providing concise and effective advice to facilitate the commercial aims of the business.
You will also;
- Advise in relation to customer-facing legal matters including consumer law, complaints handling and sales policies, with input to training to the business on consumer matters
- Draft, negotiate and advise on a wide variety of commercial contracts (including retail, general commercial, resourcing, IT, marketing and CRM).
- Provide advice and support on compliance matters to ensure Harrods conducts its business in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide commercial dispute resolution services to include risk assessment, negotiation, drafting, resolution and (as necessary) obtaining external advice to prepare these
About You
The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor (or equivalent qualified lawyer) permitted to practise in England and Wales. It is important that you have considerable experience as a qualified solicitor/ lawyer in order to undertake this legal role, ideally to include previous in-house experience.
You will also have the following;
