Your Mission

Nuvei is currently seeking a lawyer based in the EU to fill a permanent position as Legal Counsel, EMEA. The ideal candidate has 5-7years of experience working as a commercial attorney out of which at least 3 in or for regulated industries, such as payments, fintech or financial services companies. We are seeking a colleague who is resourceful, autonomous and efficient. This person has great ease working alone as well as within a team environment. Able to handle a variety of issues within tight deadlines, this person has a great sense of professionalism and excels under pressure.


Requirements
  • Member in good standing of a bar association in the UK or EU
  • 5-7 years as a commercial lawyer out of which at least 3 years of relevant legal experience with payments companies, FinTechs or financial services providers either in-house or in a law firm
  • Experience in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, as well as knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in the payment services industry
  • Excellent negotiation and drafting skills
  • Great ability to develop interpersonal relationships

Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Associate General Counsel, EMEA, the Legal Counsel will participate in the drafting, negotiation and management of various commercial agreements with the Company’s current and prospective customers, vendors and partners around the world. The Legal Counsel will participate in a broad range of legal matters pertaining to Nuvei’s business in the EMEA region and will be providing legal advice to the local Commercial, Compliance, Finance and Operations teams as Nuvei continues to develop payment solutions for merchants in EMEA and around the world.
