Job Description:

Ipsen is a global biopharmaceutical company focused on innovation and specialty care. We are looking for a Legal and Privacy Counsel/Manager to join our UK & Ireland team.

This role is ideal for someone with a few years of post-qualification experience who is ready to take on broader responsibilities and grow steadily over the next few years.

Your Role

As part of our Legal team, you’ll:

  • Provide legal support to our UK & Ireland Commercial Operations.
  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including those involving healthcare professionals and organisations.
  • Advise on UK data privacy matters, including data processing records, DPIAs and DSARs.
  • Support product-related initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Regulatory, Medical, Finance, and Group Legal.
  • Receive guidance and mentorship from the Senior Legal Director, with opportunities to expand your scope over time.
What You’ll Bring

Essential:

  • A recognised legal qualification (e.g. LLB or equivalent).
  • Some experience working in a legal role, either in-house or in private practice.
  • A good understanding of UK data protection laws and GDPR.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn.

Preferred:

  • UK solicitor qualification.
  • Familiarity with the ABPI Code of Practice or experience in the pharmaceutical/life sciences sector.
  • Experience with the One Trust platform.
  • Interest in developing broader legal and compliance capabilities.
