About the Role:

As Insurance and Legal Operations Manager you will be a key individual enabling the continued success of our legal team and ensuring the maintenance of an effective insurance portfolio to protect our business.  You will be the stakeholder for shaping and managing FNZ’s group insurance portfolio. You will also drive key initiatives and support internal projects for the Legal function and drive efficiencies for optimal legal service delivery. 

You will help us operationalise scale and automate processes to help us manage our existing demands efficiently while also supporting the various growth strategies. You should enjoy building from scratch and collaborating across teams and turning complexity into practical workflows. You should demonstrate a mindset of continuous improvement and implement it by using data and metrics to provide insights into operations.

This is a collaborative role, requiring strong communication skills and a willingness to build structure in a fast-moving and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Insurance

  • Lead the annual insurance renewal process, ensuring accurate data collection and fair representation.

  • Manage mid-term insurance policy alterations and policy administration.

  • Provide guidance to stakeholders across the business on the corporate insurance coverage.

  • Ensure notifications are made to our brokers and insurers to ensure conditions within our insurance policies are complied with.

  • Work with brokers, insurers, and internal teams to manage claims efficiently.

  • Keep up to date with insurance market conditions and standard methodologies.

Legal Operations

  • Optimise legal financial controls including budget, supporting the billing process and helping manage legal spend.

  • Support the legal team with the management of our panel of external law firms.

  • Help manage and support projects across the full range of subjects dealt with by the legal team.

  • Assist in identifying and implementing legal department tools and processes to streamline legal department function, including the implementation of legal tech solutions.

  • Gather and analyse data and operational metrics to provide insights for the legal team.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in insurance risk management within an underwriter, broker or insurer is preferred.

  • Good understanding of corporate insurance programmes.

  • Any experience, or equivalent experience that could be transferable, as a legal operations professional that manages the operations of a specialist support services team.

  • Proactive, autonomous, resilient, adaptable, eager to continually learn and develop professionally.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and present complex data.

  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven approach.
