We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Leadership Development Manager to join our Talent and Leadership team at Domestic & General.

As part of the Global Talent & Leadership team this role will be pivotal in shaping the future of leadership across D&G. We’re on an ambitious journey to elevate leadership capability, strengthen leadership maturity, and drive exceptional business outcomes.

In this role, they will design and deliver impactful leadership development programmes, coaching and mentoring initiatives, and team/community interventions that empower leaders globally. In addition, the role will work closely with the wider team to bring our Talent & Leadership ambition to life as part of the People Strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Head of Leadership Development to support execution of D&G’s Leadership Development ambition for 2026 and beyond. 

  • Support the design and embedding of a leadership framework and standards that define what good leadership looks like at D&G.  

  • Lead on design and delivery of various leadership development programmes across our leadership pathway. 

  • Support programme design and delivery for our senior leaders. 

  • Design and deliver high performing team sessions for various teams across the business to enhance team effectiveness and performance. 

  • Lead and support the design and delivery of professional skills/capabilities development across D&G. 

  • Evaluate and monitor success of all leadership programmes to ensure they are developing the desired skills and capability in our leadership population, with tangible impact on business performance. 

  • Support the Head of Leadership Development by providing accurate budget requirements for leadership development programmes to input into wider team budget. 

  • Lead /co-lead the apprenticeships and/or Education Support offering to all colleagues across the business. 

  • Lead / co-lead on design and development of D&G’s coaching and mentoring offering to leaders. 

  • Support Leadership Development team, as needed, with implementation of professional skills development and culture enablement initiatives.  

  • Manage effectively and efficiently participant journeys, impact measurement of development initiatives and reporting.  

  • Proactively contribute to shaping of leadership agenda to meet emerging needs of our business.  

Skills and experience required:

  • Deep experience of design of leadership development interventions, bringing innovative and cutting age practices.  

  • Have deep experience of facilitation of leadership interventions for populations at different levels across the business, from individual contributor to senior leaders. 

  • Have experience of applying a range of methods, tools and approaches to leadership development, differentiating development from training. 

  • Solid understanding of the theory and practice associated with Leadership Development, Adult Learning and Development, Team Effectiveness and Communities Development. 

  • Analytically minded being able to provide external trends, benchmarks, networks and thought leadership.

  • Strong stakeholder skills to be able to manage external delivery partners to ensure content design and delivery is adapted to the needs of D&G.

  • Exposed to multiple people projects to be able to assist and support the Head of Leadership Development as and when required.
