The Opportunity

You’ll play a key role in shaping Deskpro’s design vision and driving the evolution of our product experience. This is an opportunity to build the product and UX design function from the ground up, setting the principles, systems and practices that will guide how we design, build and deliver new features. Your work will bring clarity and consistency to a complex, feature-rich platform, helping thousands of users get more value from Deskpro every day.

What You’ll Do

You’ll define how Deskpro’s products feel and work. You’ll bring structure to complexity – mapping our information architecture, scaling a design system, and turning deep user insight into clear, accessible experiences. By collaborating across Product, Engineering and Marketing, you’ll design elegant solutions that meet real needs and business goals. You’ll explore how emerging tools, especially AI, can speed up how we learn and design. You’ll also design adaptable product experiences that support customers as they move through different stages of AI adoption.

You’ll also grow others along the way – mentoring, sharing ideas and building a culture where great design thrives.

RequirementsDay-to-day responsibilities
  • Implement and direct Deskpro's UX vision and set a clear direction for how good UX shapes Deskpro’s product experience.
  • Define and uphold UX design principles, patterns and accessibility standards that meet WCAG and delight users.
  • Map, test and refine Deskpro’s information architecture to make complex products and workflows easy to understand.
  • Own the UX design lifecycle – from uncovering insights to prototyping and delivering thoughtful, high-quality experiences.
  • Build and evolve a design system that unifies how Deskpro looks, feels and works across teams.
  • Turn research and data into elegant solutions that make complex workflows effortless.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering and Marketing to create seamless, intuitive user journeys.
  • Design and document UX flows and ideas in Figma and other modern tools that help the team move fast.
  • Use AI tools and emerging technologies to speed up insight generation and validation.
  • Mentor and inspire others, helping to grow a creative, user-centred culture where great design thrives.
What you’ll bring
  • A strong track record working on complex, user-centred digital products – 7+ years in UX, product, or interaction design.
  • A portfolio that shows clear thinking, attention to detail and an ability to simplify complexity through design and information architecture (IA).
  • Experience creating and scaling design systems that bring consistency and speed to growing product teams.
  • Strength in user research, testing and structural problem-solving, turning insight into better product decisions.
  • Confidence working end-to-end with Product and Engineering to ship thoughtful, well-built experiences.
  • Proficiency in Figma and other modern design tools, with an eye for systems, patterns and quality.
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles, with experience meeting WCAG and Section 508 standards.
  • Curiosity about how emerging technologies, including AI, can enhance design and accelerate learning.
  • A collaborative, pragmatic mindset – balancing creativity with delivery, and lifting the craft and confidence of those around you.

That said, if you don’t meet every requirement but are excited about this role, we’d still like to hear from you.

BenefitsWhat we offer
  • Competitive salary + company share options.
  • A mixture of autonomy over your own work and real responsibilities to the team and business.
  • Your choice of equipment (a lot of our team like MacBooks with two 4k monitors)
  • We facilitate self-improvement: books, conferences, just ask!
  • BUPA private healthcare & cash scheme
  • Perkbox – giving you access to savings on shopping, gym memberships, eating out etc.
  • Hybrid flexible working, with visits to the London office for collaboration.
  • And the usual pension scheme, bike storage, season ticket loans, death in service etc.

We’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive team where everyone has equal opportunity to thrive. If you need any accommodations during the hiring process, just let us know - we’re happy to help.
