As a Lead Technical Program Manager - FinOps in Commercial & Investment Bank - Production & Infrastructure Management team, you will promote cloud financial management initiatives within our organization. You will collaborate with engineering, finance, and business teams to implement best practices in cloud cost optimization, promote efficiency, and improve financial accountability across cloud expenditures. This role requires your strong technical expertise, cloud financial management experience, and excellent program management skills to ensure successful execution of FinOps strategies. Job responsibilities
- Develop and execute FinOps strategies to optimize cloud cost and maximize business value.
- Drive the adoption of FinOps practices across engineering and finance teams.
- Implement frameworks for cloud cost monitoring, reporting, and optimization.
- Work with engineering, product, and finance teams to establish cloud cost visibility and accountability.
- Act as a bridge between finance and technology teams to ensure effective budgeting and forecasting.
- Partner with procurement teams to negotiate and optimize cloud service contracts.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in cloud infrastructure.
- Define and track cloud cost KPIs, providing recommendations to reduce waste.
- Develop governance models to align cloud spending with business objectives.
- Work with engineering teams to integrate cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Billing).
- Identify opportunities to automate cost allocation, forecasting, and anomaly detection processes.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in a large organization
- Strong understanding of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and pricing models.
- Experience with FinOps tools such as CloudHealth, Apptio Cloudability, Kubecost, or AWS Cost Explorer.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with cloud-native services (serverless, Kubernetes, containers).
- Strong analytical skills with experience in cost optimization, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale technical programs and cross-functional teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
- Experience in Agile methodologies, SAFe, or similar frameworks.
- Ability to translate technical details into business language for executive stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Certifications: AWS Certified FinOps Practitioner, FinOps Certified Practitioner, PMP, or CSM.
- Solid working background in technical program management, cloud cost management, or FinOps.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in cloud financial governance, IT cost management, or cloud procurement strategies.
