The ideal candidate:
We are looking for a candidate with a solid experience with WAN/LAN technologies, TCP/IP, routing protocols and a deep understanding of reference network architectures along with a significant level of ‘Hands On’ network OS experience. Additionally, candidates with a solid track record of interaction with ISPs, familiarity with automation tools, multicast experience, strong analytical, project management and troubleshooting skills will receive a higher level of consideration.
Past success designing or maintaining a network via automation is also expected. Candidates should have competence in at least one scripting language and experience with standard automation tools. A successful candidate for this position will have strong interpersonal skills, an elevated level of verbal and written dexterity and will enjoy providing effective and meaningful solutions for clients, both internal and external.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as a knowledgeable resource for FactSet’s clients, vendors and internal leaders.
- Project manage business and network team initiatives.
- Configure Cisco / Arista Routers / Switches / F5 Load Balancers / Cloud Networking Services to provide solutions that successfully integrate into our clients, vendors and FactSet’s own internal networks.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Provide expert support during network issues and troubleshoot across all network layers.
- Research, design and implement new connections to market data providers and other third parties.
- Optimize processes using templates, automation, and workflow systems.
- Lead and mentor team members, supporting them in achieving their career and project goals.
- Participate in shift rotation for Saturday & Sunday on-call coverage.
Minimum Requirements:
- BS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
- 8-12 years of relevant experience.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Comprehensive understanding of routing protocols, TCP/IP, Multicast, DNS, LAN switching, and Wireshark.
- Experience with BGP, EIGRP, router/switch architectures, and protocols like HTTP/HTTPS/DNS/DHCP/SNMP/SMTP.
- Experience in network design and implementation, particularly in financial or large enterprise networks.
Critical Skills:
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and network automation tools (Python, Ansible).
- Knowledge of network operating systems (IOS, JunOS, Linux) and modern data center architectures.
- Load-Balancers: F5 LTM, ASM, iRule, A10, AWS ELB, Global Accelerator, CDN (Content Delivery Networks)
- DNS: Infoblox, Cloudflare, AWS Route53, Efficient-IP
- Cloud: AWS and Azure networking stack
- Strong troubleshooting skills, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Relevant certifications (Cisco or other vendors) and eagerness to learn new technologies
