Job Description SummaryDue to continued growth Dowty Propellers (a GE Aerospace company) have a new opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team at our cutting edge new build manufacturing site at Brockworth, Gloucester.
In this role you'll have responsibility for driving the quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation. You'll be able to select suppliers through qualification processes, you'll own supplier results while driving improvements utilizing supplier scorecards.Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • This opportunity includes both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development responsibilities.

  • The role will cover supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence. 

  • Broadening knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in your own discipline in order to execute functional policy/strategy.

  • You'll establish extensive understanding of key business drivers and be able to use this understanding to accomplish your goals and objectives, developing and improving supplier monitoring key performance indicators. 

  • The will be some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework.

  • Resolves issues in situations that require good knowledge and judgment within established procedures.

  • Working within a complex team environment to AS9100 and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in the Sourcing & Supplier Quality Engineering space is an essential requirement for this opportunity.

  • This position requires excellent interpersonal skills. For customer facing roles, you'll be able to develop strong supplier relationships and serve as the interface between supplier, customers and GE.

  • You'll be able tailor your communication to your audience, to explain technical information in a way that's accessible to team members, internal stakeholders, customers and vendors alike.

  • This role will suit someone coming from a manufacturing environment - ideally aerospace, automotive, and defence industries.

  • Experience of working to AS9100 is a key requirement, holding lead auditor certification.

  • Experience of working on the manufacturing shop floor is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of working to NADCAP and operating 'special processes' is highly desirable.
