Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Statutory/Technical Accountant to join our EMEA Finance team based in Maidenhead. This is a new role and presents the opportunity for the successful candidate to be our local SME for our Statutory Accounts management.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the company adheres to local financial regulations across our multiple EMEA entities. This role involves leading the EMEA statutory accounts, assisting the team with local audits, and ensuring accurate reporting in line with local GAAP.
This is a hybrid position; candidates should be commutable to our Maidenhead office 2 days p/week (Tuesday and Thursday).

  • Lead the annual statutory financial statements process for various EMEA entities in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure all statutory financial reporting deadlines are met and look to continuously improve the process increasing accuracy and efficiency of our local accounts.
  • Contribute to the EMEA wide planning of statutory audits, ensuring all parties are aligned with the yearly schedule. Act as the primary contact to all stakeholders to ensure this plan is delivered.
  • Assist the internal tax team to deliver corporate tax returns within the tax deadlines.
  • Assist with financial analysis and reconciliation of statutory accounts to group accounts, identifying variances and resolving discrepancies.
  • Proactively network and partner with finance teams, external advisors, and local authorities to ensure that the company is compliant with all statutory filings.
  • Assist the Finance Managers to identify opportunities to develop the internal team's local statutory skillsets, to further enhance the knowledge and expertise within the team.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA) is preferred.
  • Significant experience in statutory accounting or audit within a EMEA region.
  • Strong understanding of local GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations in multiple EMEA countries.
  • Audit Experience: Hands-on experience managing statutory audits in a multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
