Job Description
Join our forward-thinking Corporate Data and Analytics Services (CDAS) team, where you'll play a crucial role in advancing our data strategy and solutions. CDAS unifies teams to create a strategic and consistent data management approach across our Corporate Technology (CT) organization. As part of the Data Core Engineering group within CDAS, you'll contribute to executing the CT Data Strategy by developing key data solutions, including the Corporate Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Entitlements, and Data Quality frameworks. Our vision is to enhance the Data Developer Experience through self-service and fully observable platforms, collaborating with CT Teams and adopting firmwide solutions. In this role, you'll focus on long-term priorities such as integrating the data catalog with data platforms and applications, automating metadata collection, and enabling multi-platform data access enforcement. You'll also work on standardizing data quality frameworks and developing a unified solution for data retention and destruction, all while embracing data mesh and data product principles. This includes fostering domain-driven data ownership, creating self-service data platforms, and treating data as a product to ensure high-quality, accessible, and reliable data assets. Job Responsibilities:

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
  • Mentors team members and develops strategic solutions and practices that enhance the team experience.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.


Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent/higher.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in Java development and full stack software engineering.
  • Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot and related technologies.
  • Extensive experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and web services.
  • Solid understanding of database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience with middleware and messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka).
  • Knowledge of caching/search frameworks (e.g., Elasticsearch, Gemfire Cache).
  • Proficiency in testing tools and automation techniques (e.g., JUnit, Mockito).
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD (Jenkins, Spinnaker), application resiliency, and security.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality enterprise software solutions in an Agile environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.


Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies (e.g., HTML5, JavaScript, React JS).
  • Knowledge of data quality concepts, data governance, and data management practices.
  • Experience with big data technologies and tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
