Job Description

  • End to end testing of the Aucerna application suite (both products on the market and in R&D), from planning to post deployment.
  • Designing, implementing, testing, deploying and maintaining testing suites to provide high code coverage.
  • Reviewing and challenging functional specifications for specificity and testability, and contributing to the overall development of the automation test suite using CodedUI.
  • Developing and owning test artefacts (including test plans and test scripts), both functional and non-functional
  • Taking ownership of functional areas to ensure that appropriate business analysis and development activities are in place e.g. code reviews, appropriate unit test coverage, user story documentation.
  • Executing functional, regression, non-functional (performance, latency, resilience, etc.) tests and managing defects
  • Defining and tracking quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status.
  • Assessing automation readiness, defining coverage and providing specifications for automated tests.

Qualifications

Person Specification

  • 8+ Years of Experience in Software Quality Assurance, that encompasses all stages in software development and testing lifecycle
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment
  • Experience in using Test Asset Management and Execution tools such as Microsoft Test Manager, OnTime, HP Quality Centre, TFS.
  • Experience in testing complex business processes.
  • Familiarity with MS SQL and relational databases.
  • Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Personable and enthusiastic team player and self-starter with the ability to take the initiative in resolving challenges.

Preferable:

  • ISEB Qualifications or similar.
  • Previous experience working as a Business Analyst.
  • Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration
  • Automation experience (preferably using VBScript and C#) and working knowledge of one or more mainstream test automation tools such as CodedUI, QTP, TestComplete or LoadRunner.
  • Any experience of working within petroleum industry or a financial services organisation is highly desirable.
  • Experience with auditing financial calculation results or background in accounting or finance.
  • Experience with advanced financial evaluation techniques such as Monte Carlo simulations, decision trees, tornado diagrams, spider diagrams, portfolio management, efficient frontiers or real options theory.

Additional Information

Salary: Competitive. 

Job location: Can either be in London or Aberdeen. It can be up for discussion.
