What do we do?

Paddle offers digital product companies a completely different approach to their payment infrastructure. Instead of assembling and maintaining a complex stack of payments-related apps and services, we’re a Merchant of Record for our customers. That means we take away 100% of the pain of payment fragmentation. It’s faster, safer, cheaper, and, above all, way better.

We’re backed by investors including KKR, FTV Capital, Kindred, Notion, and 83North and serve over 5000 software sellers in 245 territories globally.

The role:

We’re hiring a Lead Product Scientist to help build our Product Analytics capabilities at Paddle.
This role sits at the intersection of Product and Data — quantifying the impact of our product features through historical studies, setting up our experimentation culture, and enabling a cadence of reviewing feature performance.

You’ll partner with Product and Engineering teams to define how we measure success, build our experimentation playbook, and turn complex data into simple, actionable insights.
You’ll combine analytical rigour with product intuition — designing experiments, uncovering behavioural drivers, and guiding our teams to build products that deliver measurable impact for our sellers.

This is a hands-on leadership role, where you’ll both drive analysis and experimentation and manage one Product Scientist, helping to establish the foundations of product science at Paddle.

What you'll do:

  • Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to define success metrics and ensure every feature can be measured effectively.

  • Design and standardise our experimentation process — developing the A/B testing playbook, templates, and guidance that enable consistent, trustworthy experiments across Paddle.

  • Lead the analysis of A/B tests and quasi-experiments to quantify product impact and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Explore user behaviour data to surface insights that inform prioritisation, conversion, and retention strategies.

  • Build analytical frameworks, dashboards, and models that support product strategy and decision-making.

  • Work closely with Analytics Engineering to ensure reliable, well-documented datasets and metrics.

  • Coach and support your direct report, providing guidance on analytical methods, communication, and stakeholder management.

  • Share insights clearly and persuasively — turning data into stories that influence product direction.

  • Contribute to a culture of experimentation, helping teams frame hypotheses, interpret results, and learn faster.

We'd love to hear from you if you are:

  • Experienced in product analytics and experimentation, ideally within a fintech or payments environment.

  • Skilled in statistical methods, causal inference, and experiment design.

  • Fluent in SQL and Python for data exploration, modelling, and analysis.

  • Comfortable partnering with cross-functional teams, influencing decisions through evidence and clarity.

  • Passionate about building scalable experimentation frameworks and enabling others to self-serve.

  • Curious and commercially minded — you connect analytical results to customer value and business outcomes.

  • Excited to operate end-to-end: from defining the question, to running the analysis, to influencing the outcome.

  • Motivated by mentoring others and helping to grow a small but high-impact Product Science function.
