Job Description SummaryThe Lead Mechanical Engineer will own the end-to-end product mechanical design, integration, and validation of advanced electromechanical packaging solutions for low- and medium-voltage (LV/MV) high-power drive systems. This role requires deep expertise in mechanical design, electromechanical integration and manufacturing, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams from concept through to production and validation.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities for the Role include:

Design and Development:
- Innovate and develop mechanical designs for power electronics and electrical equipment, focusing on performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.
- Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using PTC Creo.
- Manage parts and Bills of Materials (BoMs) within the Siemens Teamcenter PLM system.
Engineering Analysis:
- Conduct engineering analysis through hand calculations and software tools.
Testing and Validation:
- Develop test plans and support the physical testing of prototypes to validate designs.
Project Management:
- Collaborate with product and project managers to set priorities, manage base costs, and allocate resources effectively.
- Maintain an appropriate operating rhythm, driving simplification, efficiency, productivity, and overall team performance.
Process Optimization:
- Utilize engineering tools and processes to optimize engineering throughput and quality.
- Ensure the implementation of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) techniques in the design process.
Technical Leadership:
- Serve as the technical point of contact for all mechanical engineering topics related to project work.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, or relevant experience in a mechanical design engineering environment.
- Significant engineering experience with strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, sheet metal design, DFMA, and material selection.
- Expertise in stress, thermal, and fluid flow analyses using hand calculations and FEA software tools such as ANSYS and Fluent.
- Proven track record in product development, preferably in the industrial or electrical equipment sectors.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and use them to develop suitable mechanical designs.
- Demonstrable experience in a project lead role.
- Proficiency in using PTC Creo or similar 3D CAD software for creating 3D part and assembly models and 2D drawings.
- Strong engineering, communication, and organizational skills.
Desirable:
- Experience in the design of Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) switchgear and packaging of power electronics equipment.
- Experience using Siemens Teamcenter PLM software for BoM creation and management.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally.
