The role / impact

As our Lead Insights Consultant - Brand, you will be responsible for leading Xero's core brand and market intelligence programs. You will provide the vital evidence base that informs brand strategy, positioning, and creative decision-making across our global and regional marketing teams. Your work ensures that marketing decisions are grounded in a clear understanding of customers and brand performance, helping us build a stronger economy for small businesses.

In this role, you will translate complex quantitative and qualitative data into clear, decision-ready narratives for senior stakeholders. By owning foundational insight initiatives and identifying key market trends, you will help marketing leaders understand where Xero is winning and differentiating, directly influencing global brand investment.

The team / how they connect

You will operate as a senior individual contributor within our Global Marketing Insights team, collaborating closely with other insight, analytics, and marketing specialists. You will act as a strategic partner to senior leaders and regional teams, ensuring that insights are shared across the organisation and applied to local contexts.

Initially, you will focus on

  • Owning the end-to-end delivery of primary brand and category insight initiatives to ensure they are methodologically robust and consistent across markets.

  • Managing key relationships with external research partners and insight agencies to drive program excellence.

  • Identifying trends, opportunities, and risks that affect brand performance to support strategic evidence-based conversations.

  • Providing specific insights to inform creative development and help marketing teams evaluate what messaging is resonating with our audience.

Where and how you can work

This role is available as a fixed-term contract and can be based in Australia or New Zealand. We support a hybrid working environment that balances the benefits of office-based collaboration with the flexibility to work in a way that prioritises your wellbeing and helps you deliver high-impact work.

Here are some of the things we are looking for

  • You bring extensive experience in brand, market, or marketing insights, ideally within SaaS, technology, or complex B2B environments.

  • Your background includes a proven track record of leading large-scale tracking, category, or brand measurement programs end-to-end.

  • You possess strong analytical rigour and the ability to synthesise complex quantitative and qualitative data into clear, actionable narratives.

  • Strategic storytelling is a strength of yours, allowing you to build trust and communicate decision-ready insights to senior stakeholders.

  • You have a deep understanding of commercial acumen, connecting market insights directly to business and investment decisions.

  • Navigating complex, matrixed, or global organisations is something you find comfortable, and you enjoy operating as a senior individual contributor.

Apply even if your experience isn't a perfect match! At Xero, we hire based on your skills, passion, and the unique perspective you can bring to enhance our culture and team.

Please note our holiday closure from December 22nd to January 4th. Application reviews and recruitment will kick off in January once we are back in the office.
