Job Description SummaryAn exciting new opportunity for a Lead Finance Specialist to join our On Wing Support business on a permanent basis, attached to our Feltham site near London Heathrow. You'll be able to drive optimal performance (cost, fulfillment, quality, cash) and profitability through the Supply Chain and Project execution. You'll have knowledge of best practices and how your own area integrates with others; you'll develop an awareness of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.Job Description

Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. This opportunity may include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage other invoice specialists globally to ensure standard processes are maintained, consistent training adhered to and performance metrics are met

  • Identify any performance/knowledge gaps within the team to improve overall performance

  • Identify process and technical improvement opportunities to drive change and further enhance accuracy and timeliness

  • Keep up to date with global changes impacting invoicing and communicate to the team to ensure compliance

  • Responsible for supporting daily cash operating processes at the London site by ensuring accurate invoicing, account reconciliations and procedural compliance

  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area

  • Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults People Leader or more senior team members for issues outside of defined parameters

  • Collaborates with others to solve issues, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE Aerospace.  Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with contracts from within the aviation or airline sector (or similar, e.g. Defence and aerospace etc)

  • Strong knowledge/experience with SAP

  • High proficiency in Excel

  • Demonstrable accounting experience - a relevant accounting qualification is highly desirable.
