The Role

The Marketing & Business Insights team is an integral and fast expanding department within LiveScore Group (LSG). As a Lead Econometrician focusing on marketing effectiveness, you will be at the forefront of the marketing effectiveness strategy in the group. This is very much a capability that we want to grow across the group as part of our ambitious growth strategy. Your focus will be on cementing the technique/capability across our brands, geos, and external agencies. The growth potential within this role is extensive, and in turn so are the development opportunities given our unique business model of media and betting. You will be at the forefront of evolving a best-in-class in-house capability where we leverage customer level data and other advanced analytical techniques. With an abundance of data and talent with the department at our disposal, this role very much suits an inquisitive proactive problem solver who is adept with working independently and collaboratively where no one project is the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Playing a leading role in building and evolving an In-house Econometrics/MMM capability across LSG.
  • Building the blueprint and tooling needed for incrementality testing to calibrate the MMM.
  • Play a leading role in mentoring and developing Analysts across the team to learn and hone critical modelling skills and techniques specifically MMM. 
  • Proactive working relationship with our embedded Data and Mar-tech team in driving automation and scalability from data ingestion to dashboarding of the results.
  • Identify, scope, propose and own a project delivery to ensure all the fundamental questions are correctly addressed in the analysis through to the execution of those recommendations (which truly make this a unique opportunity).
  • A large part of our success is working closely with our marketing teams and wider analytical function to test and learn on an ongoing basis. This makes this role truly rewarding through the always on implementation and measurement of recommendations through our in-house reporting suite and Machine Learning player value model.
  • Opportunity to play a role in the research and development of our bespoke modelling platform, automation tooling, and scenario planning engine.
  • Communicate complex outputs in a clear and coherent manner that yield growth and profitability for LSG.
  • We have a very open culture at LiveScore and there will be opportunities to present analysis from analyst level all the way through to the C-suite.
  • Transfer business concerns and concepts into tangible data points and metrics.
  • A proven track record of leading large and complex MMM projects and driving actionable recommendations.
  • The ability to examine and understand data from multiple sources to provide actionable insight and drive change.
  • Monitoring the performance of the business and are driven to investigating changes in core KPIs that impact the Betting business.

Key Skills/Experience

  • Experience in advanced mathematical or statistical modelling applicable to the skills required in a commercial environment
  • Proven experience working in a team environment, specifically leading on large MMM projects.
  • Proven commercial experience in an Econometrics/MMM based role agency but preferably client side.
  • An elementary understanding of Tableau, Power BI, and/or Looker. 
  • Strong understanding of SQL and Excel are critical for success in this role.
  • Prerequisite to have at a minimum intermediate proficiency of Python/R or a similar programming language.
  • A history of managing and executing your workload independently using JIRA.
  • Experience of working with finance, media owners and media agencies through building bottom-up marketing budgets to drive profitability and or market share.
  • A mentor who can guide and lead juniors in the right direction.
  • Be adaptable and embrace the values and the culture at LSG.
