Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Lead Document Controller located in Castle Mills, Kendal or Blackburn.

Reporting to the Head of Projects the Lead Document Controller role involves developing work instructions and procedures for Document Control, managing a team of Document Controllers, serving as the main point of contact for client queries, resolving discrepancies, liaising with project teams, and ensuring efficient documentation flow and compliance, while also providing regular status updates and maintaining confidentiality.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Develop and document Document Control work instructions, work flows and procedures.
  • Manage Document Control operations and the team of Document Controllers, both in-office and on-site.
  • Serve as the primary contact for client queries related to Document Control, delegating tasks as needed.
  • Resolve discrepancies and system issues, ensuring timely problem resolution.
  • Collaborate daily with the Projects team and Document Controller team.
  • Liaise with clients and external vendors to support documentation needs.
  • Review and update technical documents, including manuals and workflows, with team input.
  • Establish and maintain document workflows and approval processes.
  • Conduct training and communicate documentation requirements to internal teams.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc project reports while seeking improvements in document management efficiency.

  • Ability to converse clearly & concisely with Senior Project Manager & the team
  • Ability to learn & self-mange online document platforms
  • Fantastic PC, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organise own workload and use initiative.
  • Ability to lead and support the Document Control team.
  • Confident under pressure and able to handle multifaceted objectives.
  • High level of organisation. Efficient with thorough methods of working.
  • Have the ability to travel, as attending site may be required for some client meetings.
