About The Role

We are looking to hire a lead artist to join our team, taking on responsibility for leading the artwork team for our VR and haptic experiences. You will work closely with the engineers as well as the UX/Design team to produce realistic, immersive content and will enjoy the support of your colleagues and our open culture, where what we learn from our failures is as important as our successes.

What You Will Do

  • Ensure art quality is of the highest standard across multiple projects - provide actionable feedback and direction for the team
  • Review and maintain technical standards to ensure that projects run optimally on different target hardware and specs 
  • Review and maintain the art pipeline - update and train team when new software or processes arise
  • Work closely with other department leads and project teams to ensure projects run smoothly
  • Work with the team to identify project needs and plan resourcing
  • Research and estimate work for potential projects
  • Organise and manage outsource partners when required
  • Oversee career progression and training for the art team
Requirements

What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years experience in Gaming/VR as a Senior artist or higher
  • Strong portfolio showcasing generalist skillset
  • A strong eye for detail and understanding of colour, light and human anatomy
  • Expert knowledge of 3D asset creation software (ZBrush, Maya, Substance Suite)
  • Proven track record of both artistic and technical creativity, with a passion for working with teams and solving problems
  • Interest in VR, MR and AR technologies is essential, experience is preferred
  • Experience of Unity is essential, other game engines experience is a plus
