Our software models the physical and commercial nuances of energy projects both behind-the-meter and front-of-meter. This includes modelling renewable energy generation, battery energy storage, flexibility and different commercial arrangements.
We are a SaaS company filled with motivated software and energy nerds with customers around the world and offices in Australia, the UK and Germany. We're growing rapidly and are looking for a Lead Analyst - Modelling and Markets to join our team.
Who we’re looking for:
We are looking someone with deep energy market expertise in at least one major European energy market - that expertise will include technical understanding of wholesale, ancillary and balancing market design and operation as it relates to energy investments, particularly battery storage. Additionally, the role requires hands-on experience in modelling and data analytics for energy markets.
Your work as Lead Analyst - Modelling and Markets will cover the following areas:
- You will be the primary technical interface between the business and the modelling team, understanding and interpreting often complex energy market concepts into well defined modelling requirements
- Responsibility for testing and validation of new modelling features
- Close collaboration with product managers, software and data engineers, and data scientists to understand and address customer needs.
- Writing and maintaining internal technical documentation
To be successful in this role you will (have):
- Expert knowledge in at least one major European energy market
- Significant experience in modelling energy project investments
- A technical background, and be very comfortable understanding python, pull requests and automated tests
- Fluency with time series data, and data analysis
- Experience with BI tools, data visualisation, and techniques
- Excellent communications skills, particularly around complex technical topics.
- Flexibility in working hours to ensure overlap with the existing modelling team based in Melbourne, Australia
- Structured prioritisation and stakeholder management skills
- Right to work in the UK

- Some experience with modelling, simulation and optimisation (LP, MILP)
