JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Examines test samples and reads measuring instruments, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and operational instructions.
  • Evaluates test performance, provides feedback regarding issues and/or problems with test and data sheets and reviews test and construction data with supervisor and/or lab work requestor as appropriate.
  • Operates with minimal supervision within defined limits of responsibility.
  • Directs, builds and/or adapts setup and test equipment to new situations, based on standards and customer needs.
  • Trains staff in test setups and test methods.
  • Initiates recommendations for new equipment designs and recommends solutions to observed test problems.
  • Operates designated machines and special laboratory equipment.
  • Performs routine maintenance of designated test equipment and laboratory area.
  • Communicates with clients during the setup and performance of a test to demonstrate or otherwise illustrate equipment test methods and/or to discuss test results.
  • Communicates with the appropriate department personnel to offer suggestions pertinent to equipment needs.
  • Records observed or calculated data on appropriate UL forms and prepare data sheets and test reports.
  • Plans tests, evaluates test results and reports opinions and interpretations.
  • May assist PDEs and/or Engineering to modify existing methods or develop and validate new test methods.
  • Provides training and assist others in the laboratory.
  • Reads and understands test standards and testing technology for specific tests.
  • Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
  • Contacts suppliers and creates requisitions for lab equipment and consumables
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School degree in a related discipline or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • A mechanical laboratory work experience of at least 2 years is preferable
  • Effective communication skills in Italian and English and ability to interact with customers.
  • Proven ability to be innovative and creative.
  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment and to increase knowledge every day.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must.
  • Ability to incorporate automation into day-to-day testing.

What we offer:
We understand that remuneration and benefits are important when deciding on your next career move. The annual salary range for this position is EUR 24000 - 32000 gross, determined by numerous factors, including knowledge, skills, and experience. This position also offers an annual bonus of up to 5% of annual salary. We also offer 21 vacation days, lunch voucher (10€ per working day),Voluntary Individual Pension Plan, Fiscal Assistance, access to the ULS University learning platform to support your development and learning, two additional days off for volunteering, and flexible working to support your work-life balance.
