Job Description

As the Knitwear Technologist at COS you will create a perfect fit for our customers while fulfilling our high-quality standards. You will have the opportunity to influence and lead your team from a technical perspective. In this role you will secure the Knitwear Product Development from the sketch to production while operating towards short- and long-term goals.

What you will do:

  • Interpret and realize the designer’s vision from sketch to final sample
  • Achieve the best fit and quality for your department
  • Secure the product development in Menswear Knitwear; fit, size, function, quality, and construction according to Design and Buying handover and critical path
  • Co-create with the designers to realise the look through mock-ups, 3D prototyping and other creative solutions
  • Create, alter, and advise on knitwear tech packs, applying knowledge of different yarns, gauges, stitches, tension properties, production methods, constructions and gradings
  • Provide advice to secure production practicality, ensuring artwork is clear and technical
  • Support with creative development of your department by proposing new techniques, technology, details, and silhouettes
  • Work with measurement lists, ensure grading is correct and consistent, measurements match, secure all relevant information is present
  • Guide fittings from a technical perspective: drive fit and construction changes, updating sample comments, checking measurements, construction, finishing, materials, and suitability for production
  • Attend handovers for new sketches, take detailed notes, and guide the team with technical knowledge
  • Continue driving projects, delegate and follow up
  • Work efficiently and confidently with a PLM system, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office Suite Applications.
  • Participate in sales meetings, monthly returns meetings and customer workshops to keep in touch with the evolving customer

 In combination with our values we also looking for:

  • Previous experience as a knitwear technologist or product developer within a design studio, production office or factory set up
  • Excellent technical and industrial knowledge of knitwear is essential
  • Softwear/tech knowledge 
  • Ability to manage several tasks and projects simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solution orientated mindset with a customer centric approach
  • Ability to identify areas for innovation and seek out future garment technique trends
  • Experience working in collaborative environment with diverse teams
  • A Garment Technology, Production or a similar qualification would be valuable
