Delivered entirely through the browser, SimScale provides secure, scalable access to high-performance simulation without the complexity of legacy systems and infrastructure.

Headquartered in Munich, Germany, SimScale serves customers across automotive, electronics, industrial equipment, energy, and other advanced manufacturing industries. Our global team of more than 140 professionals from over 35 countries is advancing the next generation of AI-powered engineering.

The Role

As Key Account Manager, you will own a portfolio of SimScale's most valuable existing enterprise customers with one clear mandate: expand our footprint and scale revenue within these strategic accounts. You will build multi-year account strategies, develop executive relationships across engineering and simulation leadership, and turn successful initial deployments into organization-wide adoption of SimScale's platform and AI capabilities.

Your Opportunity
  • Own net revenue retention and expansion targets for a defined portfolio of strategic accounts, driving upsell, cross-sell, and multi-year renewals.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that map customer engineering initiatives, org structures, budget cycles, and buying centers to concrete expansion opportunities.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders (VP Engineering, Head of R&D, CTO, CIO) and grow from single-team deployments to enterprise-wide agreements.
  • Identify new use cases, departments, business units, and geographies within existing accounts where SimScale can deliver value - from advanced physics deployment to Physics AI and Agentic AI workflow automation.
  • Lead complex, multi-threaded enterprise sales cycles end to end: business case development, value engineering, procurement, legal, and executive alignment.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional account teams - Customer Success, Solution Engineering, Marketing to ensure adoption, satisfaction, and measurable customer outcomes.
  • Run executive business reviews that quantify delivered value and build the roadmap for the next phase of the partnership.
What We Expect from You
  • 7+ years of quota-carrying B2B software sales experience, with at least 3 years in strategic/key account management or enterprise expansion roles.
  • A track record of growing existing enterprise accounts consistently exceeding expansion/NRR targets and closing six- to seven-figure agreements.
  • Experience selling Software to engineering, manufacturing, or technical audiences; background in CAE, simulation, CAD/PLM, or adjacent engineering software is a strong plus.
  • Command of value-based and consultative selling methodologies (e.g., MEDDICC, Challenger) and complex procurement processes.
  • Executive presence and the ability to communicate business value credibly from engineer to C-level.
  • A hunter's mindset within a farmer's territory: proactive, creative, and persistent in uncovering whitespace inside existing relationships.
  • Fluent English required; German fluency strongly preferred. Willingness to travel to customers across Europe (~25%).
  • Based in Germany (preferred) or elsewhere in Europe.
What You Can Expect from Us
  • Competitive compensation with uncapped variable earnings tied to expansion performance.
  • Flexible working hours and mobile/remote working.
  • Learning and development budget to grow your skills and career.
  • Competitive health benefits, retirement plan, and discounted gym membership.
  • Child care contributions and genuine support for work-life balance.
  • An international, diverse team of 140+ colleagues from 35+ countries shaping the future of engineering simulation.
