As a Junior Software Engineer within our critical Capital Markets department, you'll play a pivotal role in the entire software development lifecycle. Design, code, and test applications with a focus on adherence to standards, providing estimates for routine tasks, and troubleshooting defects. Role Responsibilities:  

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will contribute across the entire software development lifecycle:

Development and Testing:

  • Design, code, test, and install applications, ensuring adherence to standards.

  • Provide estimates for routine tasks and troubleshoot defects.

  • Build unit tests to maintain code quality.

Product Knowledge and Communication:

  • Understand user requirements and product functionalities.

  • Develop expertise in relevant application modules.

  • Document systems and programs for effective communication.

Team Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

  • Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights for a high-performing environment.

  • Foster strong working relationships and communication across the business.

  • Contribute to improving project methodologies, processes, and tools.

Compliance and Ethics:

  • Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and statutory requirements.

  • Uphold ethical standards when handling company assets.

Experience Required

  • Qualifications in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

  • Developed skills in one or more of the major programming languages relevant to the role: Syn~ : Java, SQL, XML

  • Understanding of architecture and design standards

  • Demonstrated skills in personal work organisation and time management.

  • Ability to communicate effectively

  • Ability to work well within a team environment

  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle

  • Experience in an Agile environment

  • Ability to learn, change and adapt
