As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be a core contributor to the direction of the company. We’re looking for engineers with a product mindset who are eager to write quality software, solve meaningful problems, and grow their technical skills within an experienced engineering team. What we’re looking for- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or completion of a software development boot camp and 0–2 years of relevant professional experience
- Strong programming fundamentals and proficiency in Python, Go, or another general-purpose programming language
- Knowledge of standard tooling: CI/CD tools, Git, and exposure to Docker or Kubernetes
- Familiarity of database design and architecture: relational and non-relational
- Familiarity with cloud architecture concepts
- Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and an eagerness to learn
- Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be a US person (a US citizen, a US national, or a Green Card holder)
The following isn’t required, but we’d love to see it:
- Demonstrated software development through personal, academic, or open source projects
- Experience with Go and/or Python beyond coursework or introductory projects
- Familiarity with synchronous/asynchronous programming and concurrency
- Comfort with integrating deep learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Experience designing or consuming RESTful, gRPC, and/or GraphQL APIs
- Understanding of networked and distributed computing
- Knowledge of messaging systems (e.g., NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Experience using SQL and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Experience with workflow automation
- Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a Secret (or above) US security clearance, or an active Secret (or above) US security clearance
This position offers a hybrid/on-site work environment at our office in Austin, TX.
CompensationThe anticipated base pay range for this position is $100,000–$130,000/year. Striveworks’ total compensation package includes a competitive base salary, equity grants, and cash bonuses.
