We are Disturbia — a fast-growing, independent UK fashion brand specialising in alternative and sub-culture fashion, driven by authenticity, individuality, and a desire to disrupt the ordinary.
Our story is about evolving beyond the expected. We create authentically unconventional designs for those drawn to the strange and unusual — evoking emotion, inspiring imagination, and blending dark romanticism with eccentric detail. From celestial symbolism and folkloric references to vintage occult influences and dreamy botanicals, our collections celebrate those who dare to stand apart.
More than 20 years on, Disturbia continues to grow, with teams across our Northumberland HQ and East London office. Our in-house creatives, makers, doers and dreamers work collaboratively to deliver unique product and an exceptional customer experience for a global community who don’t follow the crowd.
We are now looking for an experienced Junior Print Designer to join the team.
This role is suited to a designer with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in fashion print, embroidery or graphic design, who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be confident owning your area, working proactively, and translating creative direction into original, production-ready artwork with minimal handholding.

Key Responsibilities
Our aesthetic is rooted in the whimsical, dark romantic and esoteric — think celestial motifs, folk magic, alchemical symbols, vintage tattoo references, dreamy botanicals and symbolic storytelling. We’re looking for a designer who can translate these influences into original, wearable prints and graphics that feel distinctive, commercial and unmistakably Disturbia.

You’ll work across all-over repeats, placement prints supporting graphics and embroideries and embellishments, contributing to seasonal collections from concept through to final artwork.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design original all-over prints, placement prints & embroideries, motifs and graphics aligned with the Disturbia brand aesthetic
  • Translate seasonal concepts and creative direction into fresh, commercially strong, production-ready artwork
  • Create seamless repeats, engineered layouts and accurate print files for development and production
  • Support seasonal concept development through strong research, mood boards and visual storytelling
  • Contribute to the creation of distinctive, collectible designs inspired by mystical, symbolic, folkloric and alternative subculture references
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Buying, Garment Technology, Production and external suppliers to ensure artwork is aligned, feasible and delivered to deadline
  • Confidently prepare artwork packs and amendments with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Maintain and organise print & embroidery strike offs, artwork libraries and related administration within the wider Print team
  • Keep up to date with niche trend movements, cultural references, subcultural shifts and competitor activity relevant to the Disturbia customer
About You
You’ll be creatively strong, highly organised and confident working at pace. This is not a role for someone who needs close supervision day-to-day — we’re looking for someone with solid experience, good instincts and the ability to take ownership of their work from the outset.
You’ll understand how to balance creativity with commercial relevance, and you’ll be excited by the opportunity to design for a brand with a clear point of view and a highly engaged customer.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • A degree in Textile Design, Print Design, Graphic Design or a related discipline is preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in print, textile or graphic design, ideally within fashion or a lifestyle brand with a strong visual identity
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating original print, and graphic design, with clear evidence of repeat, placement and motif development. Evidence of embroidery knowledge and experience would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of the Disturbia aesthetic, customer and competitive landscape
  • Excellent Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills
  • Strong ability to create production-ready artwork, including seamless repeats, print layouts and placement embroideries and embellishments.
  • Good eye for colour, composition, scale, pattern flow and detail
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of how design decisions influence product appeal and sales performance
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and respond quickly within an agile, fast-moving business
  • Strong research skills and a genuine interest in alternative fashion, folklore, symbolism, occult references, art and subculture
  • Hand-drawing or illustration skills would be an advantage
  • Experience with embellishment, embroidery or associated techniques would be beneficial, but is not essential
  • Experience working with suppliers and factories, including offshore production partners, would be advantageous
  • Confidence using a Wacom tablet is beneficial

Personal Qualities
  • Highly creative, curious and visually driven
  • Self-sufficient and proactive, with the confidence to take ownership of projects
  • Organised and detail-focused, able to manage multiple deadlines without compromising quality
  • Adaptable and resilient, comfortable working in a growing and evolving business
  • Strong communicator, able to share ideas clearly and respond positively to feedback
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, while equally comfortable working independently
  • Passionate about the Disturbia brand, aesthetic and customer
  • Committed to contributing positively to a culture of openness, inclusion, acceptance and respect.
