Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Junior Mechanical Integration Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks in Engineering Department. The position is based in PISTOIA - IT

Accountabilities

  • Carry out 3D mechanical integration analysis of all the different train components with creation of dedicated reports
  • Management and development of mechanical systems through the SRD, supplier onboarding and codesign process
  • Management of full train digital mock in 3D cad software.
  • Development of tolerances stack up analysis and management plan to guarantee correct component mechanical integration on the train
  • Creation of full train assembly drawings for train manufacturing
  • Design of mechanical components such as welded frames or bracketry for the overall systems integration

Competencies (optional)

  • 3D CAD software knowledge, especially Creo, Catia and Autodesk
  • Knowledge of DOORS for requirement management
  • Knowledge of the main office automation software/tools (Word, Excel, etc.)

Required Skills/ Knowledge

  • Being able to be autonomous in short time
  • Capability of working with fast-changing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong team working attitude and ability to collaborate with international colleagues and senior design experts

Desired Skills/ Knowledge

  • General knowledge of railway vehicles working principles
  • Passionate about railway industry
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations for rail vehicle design
  • Knowledge of Engineering Processes and Railway Operations 
  • Availability for short-term national and international business trips is preferred

Education/Qualifications

  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent technical background

Languages (optional)

  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory. English language knowledge on at least international B2 level
