Position Overview  

The Education & Templates Library creates educational eLearning content for directors, the c-suite and senior governance, risk and compliance professionals across a range of mediums as part of the Diligent One Platform. With online certification programs, e-learning courses and videos, our education content is a key way in which we connect with our customers.   

We have an exciting opportunity for an Instructional Designer to join the Diligent team, within the Product function of the Governance business unit. You will be passionate about creating engaging and effective e-learning courses and programs for a high velocity dynamic software company. You are technically adept, you have a keen attention to detail, and you can simplify the complex.  

The role of Instructional Designer will report into the Programs Manager and will be responsible for the design and publication of engaging self-paced e-learning courses, certifications, videos and downloadable templates in our LMS, Diligent Academy. You will work closely with the Programs Manager to take written content and turn it into e-learning materials, managing the design and publication process across multiple pieces of content. You will also manage the UX of Diligent Academy, building collections of content aligned to key governance, compliance and risk topics to help our customers navigate the Education and Content Library whilst measuring the effectiveness and usage of content through regular reporting. 

Key Responsibilites:  

E-learning courses 

  • Work alongside the Programs Manager to turn written materials into engaging e-learning courses 
  • Create immersive educational experiences using a variety of mediums to maximize engagement (e.g. diagrams, videos, activities, assessments, scenarios, interactive exercises)  
  • Utilize style guides, user experience best practices and user feedback to create beautiful courses that are easy to navigate 
  • Maintain courses and organize course documents and assets 

Project management 

  • Provide broad oversight and project management of all content items being produced, connecting with other team members to ensure accurate status reporting 
  • Highlight any risks of production completion  
  • Create supporting documentation and process workflows to create efficiencies within content production  

Learning management system  

  • Develop content catalogs and manage technical requirements of the LMS
  • Manage publication of content items on the LMS
  • Run regular reporting across courses and users and partnership with internal teams to drive customer adoption  
  • Provide customer support for requests as and when needed

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 1+ years of experience in instructional design for adult learners in an e-learning environment 
  • Strong project management skills 
  • A high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal 
  • Experience with a learning management system, ideally Thought Industries 
  • Familiarity or proficiency with reporting from multiple data sources
