Description

We're looking to hire a Junior Graphic Designer to work in our in-house creative studio at Footasylum. As a Junior Graphic Designer, you will join an established team of creatives and content creators and be working alongside a team of highly experienced producers, photographers, art directors, stylists and marketing professionals.
We are the only UK retailer with the ability to create and produce content for global brands in-house.
Based out of our purpose-built content creation studio at The Sharp Project, this is an exciting role reporting directly to the Lead Graphic Designer.

The Team

The Studio Team sits within the wider Marketing Department and operates out of The Sharp Project in Manchester. While our physical home is in the studio, we’re in constant collaboration with Head Office and the rest of the business. We work across Footasylum’s Own Brands as well as iconic sportswear and streetwear names.
Every day is different, and the pace is fast. From daily eComm shoots to full-blown campaigns and in-store activations, our team thrives on creativity, teamwork, and shared passion for the culture we represent. We’re committed to making content that not only looks amazing but connects deeply with our customer.
About You

You might be a recent design graduate taking your first steps into the professional world, or someone new to the design industry with a strong portfolio looking to take the next step in their career.
You're passionate about graphic design, eager to learn, and excited by the opportunity to work across a wide variety of creative projects for global sportswear brands. You have a strong eye for layout, typography and visual communication, and are looking to develop your skills across both print and digital design.
We are looking for someone who embodies the Footasylum values - Collaboration, Communication and Challenge. You have a keen interest in UK culture and sportswear brands.

Skills Required

· Good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

· A solid understanding of design fundamentals, including layout, typography and design hierarchy.

· Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

· The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

· A genuine interest in design, streetwear and youth culture.

· A strong portfolio showing us your creativity and potential.

· Confidence working within brand guidelines.

· Ready to learn!

Responsibilities

· You will work within the graphic design team to deliver creative assets across print and digital channels.

· You will work on day-to-day design briefs.

· You will support the Lead Graphic Designer and wider team on campaign rollouts and key business projects.

· You will create artwork for all online and in store touchpoints.

· You will prepare accurate artwork files for print and digital activation.

· You will apply and maintain brand guidelines across all creative briefs.

· You will contribute creative ideas and solutions during project development.

· You will manage own workload effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.

· You will keep up to date with design trends and youth culture.

Why Footasylum?

We are one of the leading omni-channel retailers across the UK, but more than that we are a brilliant place to work. We value you and your development. We have loads of examples of people moving upwards, across to other departments and given training to excel their personal and professional skills. Our aim is to create a fun environment, where your success is paramount to ours and you are given the right tools, support and platform to achieve your goals.

Diversity
We recognise and value the importance of diversity to help make sure we have lots of different perspectives when we are building services to customers and the wider business. This is great news for our business. Diversity for us is also, importantly, about building happy teams full of people that want to learn and want to be inspired by each other and our different experiences and backgrounds.

Recruitment Process

We review applications on an individual basis, and if we feel you would be a good fit we’ll invite you for a call or Teams video for an informal chat about the role, and to see if we’re a good fit for you.

We value open and honest conversations and collaboration, giving you a chance to learn about what we are doing in an informal and friendly environment. We want to know about you and why you feel that this is the opportunity for you.

Please note, this is not a remote role, and our expectation is that you will be able to attend Studio and Head Office in a hybrid way, in Greater Manchester.
