Junior Engineer

Location: On site in Aldermaston

Level of clearance: DV/SC

Due to Security clearance requirements candidates must be UK National/British passport holders/single nationality/resided in the UK for 10 years.

The role:

This role will require an understanding of applications support , it will be mainly office based in Aldermaston working Monday – Friday “office hours” with the potential for some out of hours on call support work.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake service management and minor enhancement activities involved in the ongoing delivery of Application Management.

  • Provide application lifecycle technical expertise for the support, monitoring, troubleshooting, change and enhancement of packaged and or custom applications in accordance with contractual terms and conditions and established technical standards such as CMMI and ISO.

  • Engage in and provides support for transition/transformation efforts.

  • Undertake the full range of Service Management functions required to ensure service delivery compliance to budget, quality standards and committed service levels on an on-going basis following operational policies and processes that are compliant with industry standards, such as ISO, and best practices such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).

  • Manage the technical/service relationships: between the company and the customer, between the company and subcontractors/vendors, or among various company internal organizations.

  • Work with the key customers, and/or internal businesses/end user representatives (e.g., Account Executive and the Account Delivery Manager) to retain customers and build the business.

The successful candidate will have some experience working in Applications Management.

Requirements:

  • A self starter with a willingness to learn and develop, someone who take initiative.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT Service Management and Engineering is advantageous but not essential, relevant IT industry experience is beneficial.

  • Understanding of applications support.
