Supports senior engineers with engineering calculations, plans, blueprints, schedules, budgets, permits, reports, and project documentation. Provides day-to-day oversight, coordinates with construction personnel and contractors, tracks change orders, and reports progress or issues. The role includes site visits, teamwork across engineering and construction functions, and development of knowledge in oil and gas, renewable energy, HSEQ, and engineering project delivery.
Role scope
To work under the direct supervision of a senior engineer in a wide variety of fields. Provide support to their seniors throughout the development phase, make calculations and prepare plans for projects, and oversee and provide reports on progress and issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Details / responsibilities
- Develop plans and make calculations for a variety of elements within an engineering project under the direct supervision of a senior engineer, may draw blueprints and structural diagrams then submit them to their supervisor for correction and approval
- Make necessary calculations and estimates
- Provide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements
- May visit sites to take measurements, answer contractor questions on behalf of the supervising engineer, and serve as liaisons between engineering and construction personnel
- Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines under the supervision a senior engineer
- Providing direct or indirect support to senior engineers or engineering teams
- Wide range duties like: gathering data for permit applications, submitting documentation to officials, and ensuring that change orders are logged and submitted to personnel throughout the construction process
- Prepares progress reports for submission to senior engineers and other personnel
- May prepare and compare project schedules and budgets to expectations and report on any potential delays or issues that arise during construction
- Assist with gathering project specifications and submitting reports to funding sources or governing bodies in the case of any phase of the project
- Work closely with team members on specific project elements, ensuring that all team members understand their specific duties and expectations and reporting to supervising engineers to keep them informed about issues within the team
- Develop a professional and systematic approach to all engineering tasks, by on the job training and guidance by the Project Engineer
- To gain knowledge in all the departments and divisions of the company as to understand it's contribution towards to the company
Qualifications
- BEng Degree in an Engineering Discipline appropriate to the Position
- Entry Level Position
- Good analytical skills
- Team working ability
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in the required field.
- Basic knowledge of designs for the Oil&Gas sector.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
- Office management (Word, Excel, Power Point, teams).
- Knowledge of HSEQ.
- Basic knowledge of renewable energies or energy transition
