We are looking to add a junior economist to our European economics team based in London 

 

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:   

  • Support London-based research team in analysis, modelling, and forecasting of European economies 

  • Cover select countries in depth (e.g., France, Netherlands) 

  • Perform literature searches, read and summarize academic papers and policymaker speeches  

  • Contribute to the general work flow and internal publications of the team  

  • Back-up to other team members on their respective tasks  

  • Limited travel may be required. 

WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND: 

Essential 

  • Bachelor or Master level degree with quantitative major (economics strongly preferred; math, engineering, etc. acceptable in conjunction with appropriate work experience) 

  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in a junior economist or research assistant role at an investment bank, asset manager, central bank, research institute or international organization 

  • Experience with economic modelling of European economies 

  • Demonstrated programming skills (Excel and at least one programming language such as Python)  

  • Team player, proactive, independent 

Desirable 

  • French speaking 

  • Experience with Haver
