Position Summary

The Business Insight Analyst role is part of the Business Operations Team within the Display organisation of Samsung UK. The 2021 vision for the team is to “Excite UK & Ireland businesses with display solutions that deliver the most impactful experiences”. Display team is covering 4 different categories : LCD Monitor, Hospitality Display, LED Signage and Smart Signage (Interactive, video wall, standalone, outdoor).
The role reports directly to the Business Operations Manager, and then directly to Head of Department. This is a diverse role, where core element is to engage with other teams in order to accumulate all necessary information, that will allow effective reporting both on HQ and subsidiary level. There is a cross functional element where the success will be to co-ordinate with Product Managers, Business Development Team, Channel team, SCM other sales/marketing/business operations analyst such as Mobile division (IM), so relationship with each team is key.
The role will be the centre hub of our business data, where the analysis will drive the achievement in both sales and product strategic direction. This role would be focused on market intelligence side.

Role and Responsibilities

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of the market for LFD, LED and Digital Signage Solutions in partnership with the BDM’s and Channel Managers in their specific verticals and accounts, with focus on Market Intelligence & Market research side

  • Proactively engage with Market research agencies for acquiring necessary market and trends information (IHS, GFK, IDC)

  • Analysis and engagement into business reviews with Tier 1 (Disty), category analysis for Tier 2 (Resellers) & Tier 3

  • Focus on analysis of business metrics: Market share, Sell-in, Sell-out, Sell-through.

  • Engage with Context, directly or with EDO support to alight SEUK Display managed accounts, disty-reseller data monitoring vs Disty reports, and manage portion of Others in the reports

  • P&L Analysis, weekly business plan, consensus meetings

  • Supporting the Head of Display on key initiatives as the need arises

Essential Hard Skills Required:

  • Specialist in Excel (Macro, pivot tables, queries, advanced formulas)

  • Good skill in most Microsoft office software (Powerpoint, Word)

  • Strong verbal, written and presentation abilities

  • Being proactive in helping with tasks, taking initiative and delivering results

  • Ability to understand business issues and suggest new ideas for process improvement

  • Ability to understand components of the tasks, getting things moving and done

  • Ability to ask questions for task completing, but also work independently and deliver results

  • Multitasking capabilities as well as ability to prioritise

  • Happy working in fast paced environment

  • Good time management skills are required

  • Ability to collaborate with others to deliver the total solution objective
