We are looking for candidates to join our Business Development Team as a Junior Bid Writer. You will be working closely with our Senior Leadership Team and Account Managers, managing the allocation of commercial opportunities to internal teams and supporting them in the development of winning written proposals. As well as managing opportunities, the role will involve liaising with teams and senior stakeholders internally and externally, analysing large amounts of information and developing compelling conclusions.

About you:

You will be a motivated self-starter, who is highly organised and able to balance multiple priorities. You should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both of which are essential to this role.

Main Duties:

  • Evaluate incoming bid opportunities against company criteria, managing bid tenders and distributing them to the appropriate departments and teams; prioritise bids based on strategic alignment, potential profitability, and company capability.
  • Collaborate with teams on developing bid responses, ensuring accuracy, and alignment with client requirements.
  • Track bids in progress, outlining potential risks and benefits, as well as the outcomes, collating feedback and providing points for improvement.
  • Participate in bid strategy sessions to understand client requirements and competitive landscape.
  • Contribute to the development of written proposals and presentations
  • Establish and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Representing Solirius, if necessary, at pre-bid meetings.

Requirements
  • Previous experience (1-2 years) in a bid writing, proposal writing, or similar structured writing role.
  • Understanding of bid management processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken word with an ability to successfully engage with team members, clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to write reports and proposals
  • Attention to detail, and strong organisational and time management skills are essential.
  • Ability to analyse and condense large amounts of information.
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to interview technical subject matter experts to develop bid responses.
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word and Excel) and Google Suites.
  • Experience working on public sector bids or framework submissions would be a bonus but is not essential.
