We’re looking for the right person to join our small team of accountants.  This role offers the right candidate a start to a career in book-keeping within a small international group.

The ideal candidate will have proven aptitude for numbers and comprehension, have an enquiring mind to solve data problems and identify gaps in data, have a large appetite to learn, and have a strong attention to detail.

Summary of role and responsibilities

This role is primarily a data processing role, including the controlling of data and the entry of data into systems in the key aspects of accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management and fixed assets for multiple countries in Europe and North America.  In addition, the role provides an opportunity to sample experience towards compilation of trial balances, an insight into corporate structures, some legal concepts fundamental to the business world, the practice of VAT and the use of technology to share data.


Experience and Skills


The role is suited for an applicant who meets the following:

  • Either a GCSE in Accounting (grade 6 or higher), or an NVQ in Accounting (grade 3 or higher), or on-going studying for AAT.;
  • Strong Excel skills (auto-filters, pivot tables, use of macros and a wide variety of other formulae and functions);
  • Attention to detail must be second-to-none;
  • Takes a methodical approach to workload with strong time-management skills, an ability to plan and to forecast time and tasks ahead;
  • Ability to re-order priorities in response to conflicted deadlines;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English (this requirement is essential).

 

As part of our recruitment process, short-listed candidates will be invited to sit a technical test covering the candidate’s aptitude.

Other mandatory requirements of this role include:


  • Valid UK driving licence;
  • Proof to work in the UK.
  • Undergo a background check;
  • Proof of qualifications;
  • Working at the office, in Stevenage, UK, between the hours of 0930 to 1800, five working days in the week, with limited dispensation for occasional hybrid working after six months.
