YouGov is looking for a (Junior) Account Director to join our UK account management team and make a significant impact across broad consumer-based industries, including FMCG, Retail, Automotive, and Travel.

The (Junior) Account Director is primarily a client-facing commercial lead for a key group of accounts. Reporting to our Group Account Director also based in the UK, the (Junior) Account Director will be responsible for driving growth through cross-selling and upselling, ultimately increasing the value of your account group year on year.

This position is the ideal role for an experienced Account Manager in research or data insight who looking to move into a more senior post.

What you’ll do:
  • Strategic Account Growth: Develop and implement strategic account plans for each client in your territory, working closely with the Group Account Director on sales planning and forecasting.
  • Commercial Leadership: Lead pricing proposals, contract negotiations, and commercial discussions to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Relationship Building: Build and nurture strong relationships with senior stakeholders and budget holders within your account group. Represent YouGov at industry events to expand your network and client base.
  • Innovative Solutions: Proactively identify strategic and innovative uses for YouGov’s data to demonstrate the value of our solutions and address client challenges.
  • Product Expertise: Confidently pitch new products and showcase how they solve sector-specific challenges, differentiating YouGov from competitors.
  • Brand Reputation: Enhance YouGov’s reputation among clients within consumer-focused sectors such as FMCG, Retail, Automotive, and Travel.
  • Collaborative Success: Work closely with New Business, Client Services, and Product teams to deliver seamless solutions and exceptional client experiences.
What you’ll need to bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in client account management or oversight, ideally within consumer-focused industries.
  • Strong understanding of the role of research and data in driving decisions across FMCG, Retail, Auto, and Travel sectors.
  • Proven experience managing large, complex stakeholder relationships.
  • A business development mindset and a desire to work in a high-growth environment.
  • Familiarity with at least one sales methodology (preferably MEDPICC) and the principles behind effective sales techniques.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing abilities to drive commercial outcomes.

This vacancy is based in our central London office with hybrid working arrangement (x2 days per week in office).
