The Role

We are looking for a Journal Specialist to drive the growth and impact of our journals by attracting top-tier submissions and elevating our standing within the academic sphere.
As a Journal Specialist, you will:
- Manage the complete life cycle of article collections (Research Topics), from inception to online publication.
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with editors and researchers, promoting the journal to secure high-quality submissions while building community trust.
- Develop assigned Specialty Sections into leaders in their fields by implementing strategic, data-driven growth initiatives for sustained success.
- Enhance team effectiveness through participation in training, precise progress reporting, and sharing best practices.
- Conduct outreach calls with external stakeholders and engage in proactive, cold-call style interactions.
- Boost customer satisfaction by addressing feedback, delivering operational excellence, and contributing to initiatives that drive process and product improvements.
- Assess the current number of board members and recruit new members as needed.
About You:
- Your communication skills, both written and verbal, in English are exceptional.
- You have a sales mindset with a knack for building strong relationships with customers, both digitally and in person.
- You have strong analytical skills and use data to continually enhance performance.
- You are technically savvy and eager to embrace new tools and systems.
- You demonstrate expertise in time management, prioritization, and project coordination.
- You are results-driven, solution-oriented, and committed to excellence with a proactive, collaborative attitude.
- You exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations and display tact when engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- You possess a graduate degree or higher, and a passion for advancing research dissemination and open science.
