Job Description

We are looking for a Software Test Engineer with knowledge and experience in working with Java. You will participate in the testing activities for a comprehensive Manufacturing Execution System (MES) - FactoryTalk ProductionCentre (FTPC). Your assignments will include participation in requirements development, architectural design of automated test systems, effort estimation, design, coding, and verification of automated test systems in all stages of the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate with multiple global teams.

You will report to the Team Lead and have a hybrid schedule working in Katowice, Poland.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design, create, execute and maintain automated tests, monitor the results and reports software defects.
  • Participate in reviews of documents, designs and test cases.
  • Develop test documentation required by software development process.
  • Support the team in functional and system requirements analysis required to design and verify added and changed functionality.
  • Provide work estimates and status report as requested.
  • Maintain adequate interaction to ensure assigned tasks are prioritized appropriately.
  • Facilitate effective communication both within local team and with remote partners.
  • Maintain professional relationships, open and direct communication, honesty, and respect.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience on tester position in a software product development environment
  • Experience in developing and performing test automation.
  • Experience in developing test documentation.
  • Knowledge of technologies: Java 11/17, Jama, qTest, Parrot (our framework based on Selenium & Vaadin Testbench & Marathon), JUnit, Jenkins, Windows Azure, IntelliJ, SQL Server/Oracle, Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Object-Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
  • Proficient in English, allowing collaboration with a global team.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Domain knowledge in the field of Industrial Automation including MES applications.
  • Experience with test automation and scripting languages (preferred Marathon or Selenium).
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes (SAFE/SCRUM).
