The Role

Working as part of a dynamic and entrepreneurial team, this placement role will be based at our London head office. Alpha is seeking a bright and proactive university student who is looking to join a fast-paced IT Support team with a collaborative culture that is both challenging and highly rewarding.


Key Responsibilities


  • Frontline IT Support – Be the first point of contact for technical issues, providing first-line support through walk-ups, remote access, and deskside assistance.
  • Ticket Management – Log, prioritise, and categorise issues in our support desk system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ITIL standards.
  • Hardware & Software Setup – Prepare and configure Alpha computers, install software, and set up monitors, docking stations, and business applications.
  • User Access Management – Manage accounts in Azure AD, Office 365, VPN, and SaaS services.
  • New Starters & Onboarding – Ensure all IT equipment and access are ready for new employees before their start date.
  • Office Technology Maintenance – Conduct daily checks on office equipment, including printers, video conferencing and telephone systems, and TV walls.
  • Project Work – Assist the team in delivering key IT initiatives and infrastructure improvements.

Skills & Experience Required


  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience or knowledge in Microsoft technologies, such as Office365 suite, Intune & Azure Active Directory.
  • Familiar with Windows10 and Apple Mac operating systems.
  • Highly organised with the ability to work at pace with a ‘get things done’ attitude.
  • Pro-active approach with a mindset of looking for constant improvement in all aspects of their work.
