Job Description:
This role will play a key part in supporting our Procurement/Sourcing related activities across EMEA & APAC in what is an exciting period of growth for Datasite. The profile we are looking for will have a solid track record in IT Procurement and Vendor Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Research, execute and implement effective vendor management strategies to meet both immediate and longer-term business objectives.
- Use category spend data and IT business knowledge to identify and develop an overall cost reduction (value improvement) plan.
- Engage internal clients to scope business and supply chain requirements, establish strategic sourcing strategy & develop detailed project plans to implement sourced programs.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers in partnership with or on behalf of internal Business Area contacts.
- Ability to manage onboarding and assimilating acquired companies and Business Area resources into the Datasite Sourcing methodology, processes, and systems.
- Lead the IT reseller relationships and manage that sub-category and those relationships
- Manage an IT renewal roadmap in partnership with your internal Business Area leads.
- Build the key elements around new sourcing projects, including the development, planning, and coordination of negotiation steps and the oversight of supplier communications.
- Develop supplier and marketplace relationships to identify changing trends, products and services.
- Regular category management activities, including establishing and maintaining supplier governance forums to ensure IT business needs are met and suppliers are held accountable.
- Act as a liaison between Business Leads and leadership members in technology areas, operations, and finance to support contribution measurement methodologies.
- Assist internal clients through the solution ROI/justification process within Finance.
- Proactively escalate supplier problems to senior members in the Sourcing Department and to affected Business Areas.
- Excellent communication skills to align between functional groups and collaborate with the technology leaders and peers in the Sourcing Department.
- Contribute to the Global Sourcing & Procurement team’s best practices by bringing forward industry experience and ideas.
- Provide Travel and Expense support by addressing and resolving travel-related issues, escalating complex problems to appropriate individuals, and ensuring timely and effective solutions to enhance employee travel experiences.
- Bi-weekly connections with local Finance team to share projects and discuss any initiative cross-overs.
- Report to and collaborate with the IT Sourcing Manager, Senior to enhance your negotiation skills and strategic sourcing experience overall.
Requirements
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum Experience
- At least 3 years professional experience in business analysis, technology sourcing, vendor management or other applicable strategic sourcing roles.
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise sourcing strategies and vendor management initiatives, with exposure to technology suppliers and solutions such as Software as a Service (SaaS), IT Consulting Services, Hardware, Software, Telecom, and Cloud Computing.
Additional Requirements
- Experience with sourcing various business-focused categories with prior exposure to technology services, hardware, software, and network/telecom.
- Knowledge of the technology vendor marketplace and cost/pricing levers.
- Experience applying complex problem solving, originality and ingenuity and the ability to apply sourcing knowledge to other (non-IT) sourcing categories, as needed.
- Ability to think and assimilate complex issues and ideas quickly to begin offering vendor solutions and alternatives.
- Strong project management skills, including time and work coordination, work plan development, issue resolution, and planning & prioritization.
- Possessing and applying broad knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of the strategic sourcing specialization to the completion of difficult assignments.
- Operating with decisional latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions, particularly in time-sensitive situations.
- Providing sourcing insight and support to high-priority, highly complex projects which have significant financial and/or legal exposure.
- Ability to interact with internal/external clients/customers at all levels in a professional manner.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and facilitation skills.
- In addition to word processing expertise (i.e., MS Word), some regular experience with Excel and PowerPoint is preferred as spend analytics will be needed as will presenting varied vendor and sourcing strategies to leadership.
- Prior exposure to supplier governance best practices and methodologies.
