We have an exciting, permanent opportunity for an IT Operations Engineer to join our IT Operations team at our London, Leeds, Cheltenham, Bristol, Birmingham, or Amersham office (hybrid working). The position may involve some travel to other national offices.
The IT Operations team maintains our IT infrastructure; supports the business to get the most out of our 3rd party and internally developed software; as well as delivering IT solutions for external client use. We produce a wide variety of business systems that are used across all our practice areas. The role will support and develop the company’s IT systems. Most of our systems are run on Microsoft Windows Servers (various versions) with a mixture of Windows 11 laptops running Microsoft Office 365 and various other business applications.
A snapshot of your day
- Working in a team spread throughout multiple offices in the UK, providing 3rd line user support to users and troubleshooting Network problems.
- Working with Software teams to deploy company software and maintain appropriate infrastructure for this. Assisting with IT infrastructure project work as required.
- Support the Administration of Servers, Network, Microsoft Azure and 365 Services.
- Manage multiple environments (Production, Development - NPE and others).
- Ensure the security of the company data by documenting and implementing backup and DR solutions, email security and IT procedures.
- Keep up to date on network and application security issues, review and implement hot-fixes, best practice documents, and other advice to secure the servers.
- Plan and implement the roll out of new hardware and software.
- Maintain the company’ email and Internet communications.
- Contribute to the setting of firm’s IT strategy, and evaluate developments in hardware, systems, and application software
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Networking Certifications (CCNA level).
- Microsoft 365 and Azure certifications
- Previous Windows Server, Hyper-V, Azure and MS 365, SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and Azure administration experience.
- Experience in managing server room UPS, Network and Datacentre equipment.
- ITIL Foundation.
- Cyber Essentials+ awareness.
- The ability to effectively communicate with employees from wide ranging groups include IT and non-IT.
- Good understanding of current IT developments and their importance in a business environment.
- Ability to effectively represent the firm to its clients, as some projects will be client facing.
