Job Description
BAE is searching for an IT Manager I for SMS Sector Business Technology Services to provide leadership for the development, design and optimization of one or more information technology and systems functions. This manager will ensure that agreed upon business solution goals and objectives are met by ensuring the delivery of necessary IT products, services, and applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the key areas of service operations, program governance, and continual service improvement.
  • Coordinates with the SMS IT Business Partners on engagements for Sector/business unit functional areas.
  • Understands business needs and coordinates technical proposal delivery that defines the scope of services, reasonable schedules and budgets. Communicates broadly to help ensure overall coordination for cross-functional teams.
  • Primary BTO lead for partnering with ESS IT groups, including Applications, Infrastructure, Platform Services, End User Services, EASE, and Cybersecurity.
  • Assists in awareness, planning, and closure of ESS IT problem management issues that have resulted in loss of IT services across the sites or groups in the SMS Sector. This includes assisting with prioritization and working escalations as needed.
  • Is the designated SMS BTO voting authority in the IT change management board and associated ESS IT processes. This includes collaborating and helping with impact assessments, coordinating and driving active change windows, monitoring/engaging as needed when changes cause unexpected interruptions to business operations. Similarly, manages the SMS IT change management board.
  • Responsible for identifying collaboration and communication capabilities for the business to enable efficient and effective interaction. Includes follow up on root cause analysis and recommendations for proactive planning from the business' perspective.
  • Conducts performance management and the enhances a culture and work environment that attracts, trains, retains, and motivates an extremely high caliber team of professionals.


Governance and Continuous Improvement Responsibilities

  • Partners with subject matter experts to leverage service solutions, ensures service solutions are implemented in accordance with policies/procedures, and identifies and resolves major issues impacting service levels.
  • Serves as the change ambassador for the Sector to drive increased adoption for Inc / ESS technology initiatives.
  • Influences ESS standards definitions. Ensures the adoption and alignment of those standards across the SMS businesses
  • Assists in the drive forward of identified and approved ESS IT continual improvement initiatives, including helping with the business change management required as services are improved across the service delivery teams.
  • Communicates benefits of leading-edge technologies deployed by IT. Advocates within the sector for increased utilization of new business technology as it is introduced.
  • Participates and directly supports identified sector business integration plans and initiatives.
  • Participates actively in assigned Inc/ESS IT Governance working group(s), applicable steering committees, process improvement teams, tiger teams, or other adhoc point specific efforts


Demand Responsibilities

  • Partners with other IT team members to facilitate and ensure participation and engagement in support of the SMS sector demand fulfilled by ESS IT.
  • Drives consistency, accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of demand through the standard ESS IT processes.
  • Partners with ESS IT service centers on SMS sector/business unit capacity planning requirements.
  • Represents the SMS sector to ESS IT to help select solutions that meet the needs of the business and ensures that the balance between scope, timing, quality and cost are maintained with new solutions introduction

Program Responsibilities

  • Coordinates SMS sector points of contacts on ESS IT engagements, helping to ensure that the cross-discipline teams are aligned, aware of information and flow communications across teams
  • Ensures quality technical and business service delivery. Provides project/account oversight and management for major deliveries in unclassified enterprise projects.
  • Reports out on progress, escalations, risks, and opportunities on program/project engagements with ESS IT
  • Works with the ESS IT to define, measure, report out and improve operational metrics on the unclassified enterprise network that impact the SMS sector


Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as a change ambassador to drive adoption for Inc / ESS technology initiatives.
  • Ability to influence standards definitions and ensure the adoption and alignment of those standards across the SMS businesses.
  • Experience driving identified and approved improvement initiatives, helping with the business change management as services are improved across the delivery teams.
  • Ensure that the business solution goals and objectives are met by delivery of necessary IT products, services, and applications.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Proven ability to ensures quality of technical and business service delivery.
  • Background in reporting on progress, escalations, risks, and opportunities on program/project engagements with ESS IT.
  • Experience in defining, measuring, reporting operational metrics on the unclassified enterprise network that impact the SMS sector.


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $106654 - $181311
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
