Business Analyst – Collibra Edge & Data Management
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and technically proficient Business Analyst to support the implementation, analysis, and optimization of the Collibra Edge application within our data management ecosystem.
This role will be responsible for gathering and documenting requirements, mapping applications and data flows, identifying gaps, analyzing automated data lineage outputs, and collaborating closely with developers, IT teams, and business stakeholders.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical capabilities (SQL, Python, data lineage analysis) with exceptional communication skills to bridge business and technical teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements related to Collibra Edge implementation.
- Map applications, systems, and data flows to support automated data lineage.
- Develop and maintain a dictionary of applications to be scanned by Collibra Edge.
- Identify gaps in metadata capture, lineage, or application scanning processes.
- Analyze Collibra Edge outputs and validate accuracy and completeness.
- Detect and correct inconsistencies, errors, or misconfigurations in lineage results.
- Read, understand, and interpret SQL and Python code
- Work with IT teams to obtain missing technical information when documentation or metadata is incomplete.
- Prepare detailed documentation
- Act as a liaison between business users, IT teams, developers, and data management teams.
- Translate business needs into clear technical specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in data-focused or governance environments.
- Hands-on experience with Collibra Edge or similar data lineage/data governance tools.
- Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret SQL and Python code.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to speak with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in business-friendly language.
