We are now seeking a dedicated and technically skilled IT Applications Support Analyst to join our manufacturing-focused Information Technology team. As an Applications Support Analyst, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting the software applications used in our high-tech semiconductor wafer manufacturing processes. You will partner with various stakeholders across the business to identify and resolve application issues, provide user support and training, and ensure the smooth operation of critical systems. This is a varied position that provides you with an exciting platform to work on both reactive and proactive projects with a focus on pioneering continuous improvement. You will join a well-established and supportive local team whilst forming relationships with the wider global IT team at Nexperia.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for learning and progression within a large IT team in a global manufacturing company. Standard working hours include a 2 pm finish every Friday with flexible working opportunities available.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for application-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving problems reported by end-users 
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Providing technical support for applications used in the semiconductor wafer fab, including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Process Control Systems, and Tool Automation 
  • Performing software installations, upgrades, and patches, ensuring compatibility and minimal disruption to production 
  • Developing and maintaining application documentation, including user manuals, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides whilst monitoring application performance for potential issues
  • Participating in the testing and validation of new applications or system enhancements
  • Collaborating with software vendors and internal IT teams to resolve complex technical issues 
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and advancements in semiconductor manufacturing applications

What our Applications Support Analyst will need

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience or knowledge in application support and Linux systems
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly understand and troubleshoot complex software applications or bugs
  • Solid understanding of database concepts and query languages (e.g., SQL) for data retrieval and analysis
  • Competency with shell scripting (e.g. CSH, KSH)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with end-users and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment whilst seeking out opportunities for improvement or change
  • Flexibility to work occasional off-hours or weekends for critical system issues

  • Experience with manufacturing software applications, such as MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
  • Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes and equipment
  • Knowledge of automation protocols, such as SECS/GEM
