The Web & Apps department is at the heart of ASOS Technology; our goal is to create the ultimate customer experience through inspiration, engagement and excitement for the fashion industry. We achieve our objectives using the latest technologies at scale to surpass our customers' expectations.

Are you an iOS QA Engineer who takes pride in the success of the applications you work on? Do you enjoy seeing your apps featured with fantastic ratings on the App Store, but strive to keep pushing for more?

We are looking for an iOS QA Engineer to join our Customer Experience team who can help further the success of our iPhone and iPad app. The app has more than 8M active users worldwide, an average app store review of 5 stars, is written in the latest version of Swift, and has over 99.91% crash-free sessions.

What you'll be doing

  • Testing new features of our iOS shopping app, from the requirements stage through to production
  • Collaborating closely with developers, UX/UI designers, Product Owners and other QAs
  • Participating in stand ups, planning sessions and retrospectives
  • Contributing to writing acceptance criteria
  • Raising and triaging bugs
  • Writing and maintaining automated tests in XCUITest
  • Helping us keep our Continuous Integration (CI) pipeline stable, fast and reliable
  • Participating in frequent releases and driving the streamlining and automation of all release-related activities
  • Proactively monitoring the current production versions of the app using tools like Crashlytics, New Relic and iTunes Connect and reporting any identified issues
     

Qualifications

Who we'd like to meet

  • You are passionate about quality and about mobile
  • You have an inquisitive mind and the ability to think outside the box
  • You proactively challenge, explore and question - highlighting risks and helping your team achieve their quality goals through informed decision making
  • You have experience working in an Agile environment
  • You have hands-on experience testing native iOS apps
  • You have coding experience in Swift or any other object-oriented programming language
  • You have extensive experience with different aspects of testing including automation, exploratory testing and ideally API testing in addition to front-end testing
  • You have experience authoring automated tests using XCUITest or similar (e.g. Appium)
  • You have hands-on experience with Continuous Integration (we currently use Azure to automate our pipeline but exposure to other relevant tools like TeamCity or Jenkins is sufficient)
  • You use tools like XCode, Charles Proxy, Postman (or similar) and GitHub on a daily basis and also don't shy away from implementing your own ones if needed!
