Investor Relations Manager – 6 months contract

London based - Hybrid working (2-3 days in the office)

Hiscox is looking to bring in an Investor Relations Manager on a 6 months contract basis to work closely with the Director of Investor Relations to drive the best-in-class IR function at Hiscox Group. You will help to prepare investor materials to enhance the market’s understanding of Hiscox’s financial performance and strategy, and support the business on executing key strategic priorities. You will work closely with the two senior Investor Relations managers in the team as well as the wider finance teams.

The Investor Relations Manager will be based in London, where the company is listed, and will report to the Director of IR, Yana O’Sullivan. The successful candidate will have a strong financial background and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and the wider business.  An understanding of insurance would be an advantage in this role.

Key Responsibilities of the IR Manager

The candidate will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Support with preparation of results materials for external communications on a quarterly basis
  • Responsible for collation of quarterly Q&A document to support earnings releases
  • Support in building and maintaining close dialogue with the 17 sell-side analysts covering Hiscox
  • Responsible for review and analysis of analyst consensus model
  • Support response to all analyst queries in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner
  • Assist in running sell-side briefing meetings
  • Own oversight of the verification process conducted by the IR analyst
  • Responsible for preparing analysis of peer earnings coverage
  • Support on ESG matters in the capital markets
  • Taking the lead on ad hoc projects to help to execute on go-forward strategy

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will possess the following capabilities:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in IR, FP&A or equity research in financial services, preferably P&C insurance
  • Highly financially literate and analytical, financial modelling experience preferred
  • Technical understanding of IFRS 17 would be highly advantageous; good understanding of various other accounting and regulatory standards
  • Thorough knowledge and expertise of the financial performance metrics
  • Attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Ability to manage concurrent priorities and meet deadlines in a pro-active and positive manner
  • Resilience and ability to operate in a high pressure environment
  • Self-sufficient and ability to work independently, as well as strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Possess a high level of integrity, confidentiality, ethics and discretion
  • Strong analytical skills, advanced MS Office skills (especially Excel, PowerPoint)
