About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Middle Office Associate to join our Investments team in London, taking ownership of facility administration, cash flows and treasury-related operational activities across assigned portfolios. Working within the Investments team, you will gain direct exposure to investment professionals and the operational management of lending facilities. You will help ensure that transactions and ongoing facility activities are accurately recorded, reconciled and completed on time, while improving processes that allow the team to focus on monitoring and managing investments.

The role involves close collaboration with Portfolio Management, Operations, Technology and external counterparties.

Key Responsibilities

Facility administration and cash flows

  • Coordinate operational readiness for new facilities and amendments, including funds-flow schedules, reporting requirements and handovers with Operations and external counterparties.
  • Administer utilisation requests, drawdowns, rollovers, reinvestments, repayments and prepayments, checking interest, fees and contractual waterfall allocations.
  • Ensure required documentation, recorded approvals and operational conditions are in place before processing, escalating missing information or discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate facility records and calendars covering payment dates, maturities, reporting obligations and contractual deadlines.
  • Support the onboarding of new debtors under existing agreements.

Reconciliations and reporting

  • Reconcile facility and platform balances, cash movements, interest and fee accruals against internal records and third-party reports, investigating and resolving differences.
  • Monitor expected facility cash flows and support Portfolio Management and Operations with fund-level cash forecasting and reconciliation.
  • Provide verified data and supporting schedules for month-end NAV, valuations, investor reporting and audits, and support regulatory reporting within the role’s remit.
  • Support lifecycle processing for bonds, asset-backed securities, term loans and associated FX or cross-currency hedges, where relevant.

Controls and process improvement

  • Maintain clear procedures, checklists and audit trails covering inputs, checks, approvals and issue resolution.
  • Work with Technology and Data teams to automate recurring checks, improve data quality and develop monitoring dashboards.
  • Coordinate with borrowers, originators, servicers, administrators and agents to keep operational deliverables on track.

Requirements
  • Typically 2–3 years of relevant experience in middle office, loan operations, fund administration, structured finance operations, agency or trustee services, or loan servicing. Relevant audit or transaction-services experience will also be considered.
  • Practical understanding of lending-facility cash flows, interest and fee calculations, settlement, lifecycle events, and cash and position reconciliations.
  • Strong Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables and handling large datasets.
  • Ability to interpret operational requirements in facility documentation and translate them into practical calendars, checklists and controls.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to checking accuracy and investigating discrepancies.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with confidence to flag issues, follow up persistently and coordinate across teams.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Experience within a fund or bank, particularly a smaller investment firm, would be advantageous. Previous exposure to asset-based finance (ABF) is desirable.
