Investment Specialist - Equities                   

This is a great job for someone who has equity knowledge alongside client facing experience.

A bit about the job:

This role is within the Equity Investment Specialist team spanning across all of our Equity Strategies. The Equity team manages ~$24bn of assets across a range of investment strategies including Core, Income, High Alpha and Sustainable strategies across the UK, Global, Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific regions. The team consists of over 25 portfolio managers and analysts.

The role will encompass three key functions:

Portfolio Manager Proxy: The candidate will work closely with the portfolio management team, gaining an in-depth understanding of product and process enabling them to represent to clients and Distribution as a product expert.

Ownership of Investment Message: The candidate will be expected to continually improve and refine the investment message within their product range insuring consistency of message across product suite and all investment collateral.

Drive product strategy: The candidate should ideally have an understanding of the client base and market trends enabling them to steer the equity product strategy.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Investment/Product Specialist experience highly advantageous.

  • Investment Management related background desirable.

  • Equities knowledge is preferable, but other asset class knowledge is also beneficial. Genuine curiosity for developing equities knowledge is essential. 

  • Strong communication skills, with a desire to develop these to be able explain investment concepts in a simple and engaging manner both internally and externally.

  • Strong ability to build internal networks and stakeholder management.

In this role you’ll be ‘Certified’ under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we’ll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we’ll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain ‘fit and proper’ and competent to carry out your role. We’ll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.
