Location: London - Hybrid working

This role will manage Quilter Cheviot’s Investment product and proposition offering, including developing, maintaining, and ensuring the execution of a propositional roadmap aligned to our commercial ambitions and client needs.  To successfully evolve our comprehensive investments proposition, the role requires an investment management proposition manager with experience in Model Portfolio Service (MPS) and bespoke Discretionary investment offerings.  This role will become the product owner for Quilter Cheviot’s MPS or Discretionary investment product (DPS) in due course, dependent on skillset.

The Investment Management Proposition Manager will have strong technical investment product knowledge, will be able to quickly build an understanding of our current and future clients, have the ability to monitor market trends/opportunities, as well as investment proposition development experience.  Working with front office, distribution, and specialists from product, CIO / investments, compliance and legal, product enhancement and new product development should be designed collaboratively with a key focus on client outcomes and executed with a ‘disciplined delivery’ mindset to drive value for clients, colleagues and advisers.

Key areas include:

  • Client Value Proposition – in line with Consumer Duty, conduct target market analysis, validation and review to ensure we continue to understand our relevant segments, their needs, and associated trends.  Working closely with our Head of Proposition:

    • Identify our ideal client investment proposition, define required developments, ensure disciplined delivery for clients and advisers.

    • Develop a clear, compelling articulation of our current and future investment proposition competitiveness.  

  • Investment Product Value Propositions – collaboratively defining product, service, positioning and pricing opportunities to drive the competitiveness of our investment product offerings based on competitor analysis and market insight.  Translate opportunities into business cases and delivery plans which result in commercial value and good client outcomes.

  • Ensure the value, suitability, and longevity of our Investment Management business’s proposition, supporting the Head of Proposition with identifying and delivering areas for enhancement and development whilst working across internal Group companies and divisions, leveraging the research capabilities from Group for common aspects.

  • Monitoring and reporting trends to support proposition and commercial understanding, as well as the delivery of good customer outcomes.

  • Representing our investment management proposition needs at relevant governance forums.

  • Engagement with regional teams alongside the Head of Proposition to inform plans and development roadmaps ensuring clear understanding across the organisation on focus areas, progress, and risks.

  • Training and development – feed into training needs for regional teams to drive best practise and Investment Management proposition adoption.

  • Owning Investment Management proposition related literature and its associated content such as competitor reviews in collaboration with others in Proposition as well as Marketing, ensuring timely and appropriate communication to the business and in particular, the adviser and professional services community.

  • Owning investment proposition relationships (technical and strategic) across the Quilter group to collaborate and share knowledge.

Consumer Duty

This role will directly impact good customer outcomes by ensuring that product and propositions are designed and maintained in alignment with target market client needs and deliver good client outcomes. Products must be designed to meet the needs, characteristics and objectives of target clients and must offer fair value.

About You

  • Deep technical knowledge of investment management products, services, pricing, and value. 

  • You’ll need strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders across multiple regional offices.

  • You’ll be confident in delivering presentations, with advanced influencing and change management skills, being seen as a trusted partner with a true understanding of our clients, teams, investment products as well as business drivers and risks.

  • Experience in investment management proposition roles, ideally wealth management supporting MPS, bespoke Discretionary, and in-house manufactured Fund product offerings.

  • Exposure to Private Market, Private Credit and Structured Product offerings from a proposition management perspective in the capacity of a product distributor, would be beneficial.   

  • You’ll understand the importance of management information (MI), with the ability to find and articulate trends and solutions from an investment products perspective.

  • You’ll have had key subject matter expert roles in product enhancements and product development, demonstrating a credible track record of delivery.

  • You’ll need the ability to work across the division, able to learn new areas of the business, sector trends and best practice. You’ll be a self-starter, able to work autonomously in building knowledge and keeping up to date with industry trends.

  • You’ll have experience of influencing decision makers.  Experience of managing teams directly would be beneficial.

  • Ideal candidate will have finance / investment management qualifications, but this is not essential if technical capability can be proven.
