Job Description
As a Technical Director you will work closely with coverage on business origination and execution. You will work with the Metals and Mining investment banking team and work closely with internal stakeholders.
The location of his opportunity is flexible as this role will be required to support teams in multiple locations globally.
Job responsibilities

  • Work closely on internal and external stakeholders
  • Support credit in evaluating metals and mining asks that have a greater technical risk
  • Balance spend with investment banking globally helping originate and execute M&A and capital markets business
  • Review technical reports pertaining to an asset to flag critical diligence issue and support the bankers in analysis and valuing the asset
  • Participate in site visits and providing summary diligence reports
  • Participate in both external and internal engagements
  • Travel will be required


Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Relevant experience working in a Mine and in financial services or consulting
  • Demonstrates good understanding of range of lending structures and has experience working with lenders
  • Demonstrates the ability to mobilise internal networks and resources
  • Confident in speaking with clients and stakeholders to gain relevant information
  • An exceptional partner who will collaborate across JP Morgan Investment Bank and Credit across EMEA, North America and APAC


Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Technical background as mining engineer (we can also consider geologists) is preferred
  • Experience working for banks or consultancy firms supporting in areas of project finance, lenders feasibility study
  • Prior experience at a financial institution is a plus
